Effective July 3, 2026
Phoney ("the app") is made by Budgey Platforms, LLC. This policy describes what data the app handles and where it goes. The short version: your alarms live on your device, your voice is processed only to run the wake-up call, and we don't sell or share your data with advertisers.
Your alarms, notes, voice choices, settings, and usage counters are stored locally on your device. We do not operate accounts and do not upload this data to our own servers.
When you answer a wake-up call, your microphone audio and the note you attached to the alarm are streamed to xAI (the provider of the Grok voice service) to hold the conversation, and the agent's replies are streamed back. Audio is processed to run the call and is subject to xAI's privacy policy. We do not record or store your calls on our servers.
Subscriptions are processed by Apple. We use RevenueCat to validate subscription status; RevenueCat receives anonymous purchase receipts and a random app-generated identifier — never your name, email, or Apple ID. See RevenueCat's privacy policy.
Requests from the app to our call server are authenticated with Apple's App Attest, which proves the request comes from a genuine copy of the app without identifying you or your device to us.
No ads, no trackers, no analytics SDKs, no selling of data, no accounts.
